Perched between the mountains and the Mediterranean in the medieval village of Eze, the Château de la Chèvre d'Or has a superb view. The elegant rooms are set in the village. Its three restaurants offer a choice of cuisine suited to every fancy: «La Chèvre d'Or», gastronomic restaurant with its fine vintages and collection of cognacs and armagnacs, minutes away, «Le Grill du Château» and Italian-style «L'Oliveto».
News
After four years at Les Crayères in Reims (2 Michelin stars) owned by the Gardinier family, Didier Elena is returning to his own land in Eze, just beside Monaco. It's a bold move on the part of this 37-year-old chef, whose career, from the Louis XV in Monaco to the Essex House in New York, has been marked by his mentor Alain Ducasse. He's moving on to new adventures, but above all is rediscovering his native soil with its familiar products and traditions. This new challenge will begin in March with the reopening of La Chèvre d'Or, where he succeeds Philippe Labbé who heads to Paris to oversee the restaurant services of the first European Shangri-La, expected to open in early 2010 on the Avenue d'Iéna.
