La Boutarde
Bistrot d’à Côté la Boutarde restaurant in Paris’ Neuilly district not far from La Defense is precisely what a Parisian bistro should be. And why not? This is a bistro from the stable of the superb Michel Rostang. The charming dining room is a comfortable, stylish combination of wood panelling, fresh flowers, white table linens, chalkboard specials and an impressive collection of antique pepper mills. In the kitchen, chef Edouard Gresser uses the very finest produce and ingredients in inventive traditional dishes like marinated salmon with warm potatoes in vinaigrette and duck pot au feu with sauce gribiche. The wine list reflects the best of the French vintners and the service is highly professional. But perhaps the best thing about Bistrot d’a Cote la Boutarde is the utterly winning blonde Jennifer Germain who greets you and sets the tone of chic informality throughout the restaurant.
