Recognizable by its curved blade, perforated with 5 little holes (for small zest) and a notch on the side (for larger zest), the zester allows you to easily and precisly cut citrus peel, removing only the aromatic colored layer without cutting into the bitter white pith.
Choose a sturdy material and check the cutting edge. Some companies make plastic zesters which look like the real thing, but generally don't cut.
