Brown Ale

Christmas Beer
A generous tradition. Specially made for Christmas and drawing on all the brewmasters' skill, Christmas Beer is a deep amber colour and has a creamy rich head.
Gueuze
Belgium. The purest form of lambic. Very bitter and a bit of an acquired taste, but worth the effort! ABV= 5%.
Kriek
A cherry beer based on lambic, a style of Belgian beer exclusive to the Brussels region. Local wild yeasts cause spontaneous fermentation and after it has aged 1 or 2 years in oak barrels cherries and cherry juice are added. An excellent, sweet, fruit beer. ABV = 4%.
Lager
A classification of beer styles made with a bottom fermenting yeast, lagers generally are smooth, elegant, crisp, and clean.
Malt, Malted Barley
One of the four ingredients of beer. Malt is barley which has been moistened, allowed to germinate, and then dried. The variety of barley, the extent to which it is allowed to germinate, and the temperature at which it is dried all influence the character, the color, and the flavor of beer.
Old Ales
Aging may be the key contributor to the character of an old ale, as they can develop a complex profile with some oxidative or winey notes.
Scotch Ale: Strong and Smooth
Scotch ales are hefty, smooth with an earthy edge, inviting, and soothing.
