Chestnuts... a healthful fruit!
Chestnuts... a healthful fruit!

All about chestnut > a healthful fruit

Chestnuts - the energy champion!
Beneath its rough shell, the chestnut hides soft flesh, a fruit full of energy (180 calories per 100 g). To stay in shape, don't hesitate to eat a few chestnuts!

A concentrate of minerals
Rich in minerals, with a generous potassium content, chestnuts are perfect for athletes. With a high level of magnesium, they can also be an important ally in fighting stress and fatigue. They also provide not insignificant amounts of calcium and iron as well as numerous trace elements.

A cocktail of vitamins
The chestnut is a tonic containing a wide range of vitamins. Its most significant contribution is in vitamin C: when picked, it contains up to 50 mg per 100 g.

Fiber and protein
Thanks to its high fiber content (5-7 g per 100 g) and dense texture, chestnuts effectively satisfy the appetite. They also contain protein (2.6 to 3 g per 100 g) which, when paired with dairy or meat products, develop unequalled nutritional qualities.

The little extra
Chestnut flour is highly sought-after because it is a gluten-free food.
