We can never repeat it often enough: no other food is as complete as the egg. It provides a large number of essential nutrients: vitamins A, B12, D and E, folic acid, zinc and phosphorus. What’s more, a large grade A egg contains only 1.5 g saturated fat and no trans fat. Eggs are also the perfect source of protein. In fact, its protein quality (93.7%) is such that scientists, dieticians and health professionals use it as the standard by which they assess the protein content of other foods. What more needs to be said?
