Lemon in cocktails


Lemon-Based Cocktails

 

Morning Glory
  1. for each drink, place in a blender:
    - 30 ml (1 oz.) fresh lemon juice
    - 1 tsp. sugar
    - 75 ml (2 1/2 oz.) scotch
    - 6 drops Pernod
    - 1 egg white
    - 2 tsp. heavy cream (35%)
    - 150 g (5 oz.) crushed ice
  2. blend for 10 seconds, or mix in a shaker
  3. pour into a glass

Gin Fizz
1. for each drink, place into a cocktail shaker:
 - 45 g (3 tbsp.) fresh lemon juice
 - 90 ml (3 oz.) gin
 - 1 tsp. sugar
 - 60 ml (2 oz.) club soda
2. shake with a few ice cubes for several seconds;
3. pour into a chilled wine or whisky glass.


Silver Fizz
1. proceed as for the gin fizz
2. add a few drops of heavy cream (35%)


Ramos Gin Fizz
1. proceed as for the silver fizz
2. increase the cream to 1 tsp.
3. add a few drops of orange flower water


Margarita
1. for each drink, place in a cocktail shaker:
- 15 ml (1 tbsp.) fresh lemon juice
- 60 ml (2 oz.) tequila
- 1 1/2 tsp. sugar
2. add a few ice cubes; shake for several seconds
3. take a slice of lemon and rub it around the edge of a wide stemmed martini or tequila glass;
4. dip the edge of the glass into a dish of fine salt;
5. pour in the cocktail.

Spritzer
1. cut the whole zest from a lemon in one piece;
2. place into a beer glass with a few ice cubes;
3. add 180 ml (6 oz.) white wine
4. and 120 ml (4 oz.) club soda


Whisky Sour
1. for each drink, place in a cocktail shaker
- 30 ml (1 oz.) fresh lemon juice
- 90 ml (3 oz.) blended whisky
- 1 tsp. sugar
2. add a few ice cubes; shake for several seconds;
3. pour into a chilled cocktail glass
4. garnish with a cherry and an orange slice
