All about watermelon > Good

The perfect symbol of summer, watermelon adds a sunny flair to recipes. Although we usually eat watermelon raw, elsewhere in the world it is given many other uses. For example, the flesh can be fried in a wok as a main course, the seeds ground into flour and the juice used to make wine in Russia. And why not recycle your watermelon rind in jam or pickles like in Iran, Korea, Morocco...

Morning

As soon as you jump out of bed, enjoy a burst of freshness by combining watermelon cubes with strawberries, cottage cheese and some toasted nuts. A nourishing and low calorie breakfast! You can also consider making smoothies by blending watermelon with your choice of fruits (e.g., pineapple or peach) and vanilla yogurt.

On the grill

Grill slices of watermelon brushed with honey right on your barbecue. You can cut it into cubes and serve it in a salad with arugula, flaked almonds and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Also try the classic salad of watermelon, feta and mint. Fantastic!

Beside the pool

Serve your family and friends a thirst-quenching pink lemonade. In a blender, combine watermelon flesh with honey, lemon juice and sparkling water. You can also freeze watermelon balls to use as ice cubes. And for a snack, create melon "cookies" by cutting shapes out of watermelon with cookie cutters!

Invite friends for cocktail hour

Make skewers by alternating watermelon balls and bocconcini cheese and prosciutto. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with chopped basil. Perfect to served with cocktails!
And why not serve roasted salted watermelon seeds - a snack to get your guests talking!

For a child's birthday party

Cut watermelon slices into triangles, then insert lollipop sticks through the peel. For a gourmet touch, dip the tip into melted chocolate and let harden in the freezer before serving.

For dessert

Make a fruit tart by placing whipped cream, chopped fruit and toasted coconut on watermelon triangles.
A nice fruit salad served in a hollowed-out watermelon will also delight both children and grown-ups!
