Wines from the South-West - Coteaux du Quercy
All about French Wines > Wines from the South-West > Coteaux du Quercy
Situated on limestone slopes between Cahors and Gaillac, this region of some 400 ha of vines was granted V.D.Q.S. status in 2000 for its red wines (87 %) and rosés. Cabernet franc – which must represent a minimum of 60 % of the blend – may be blended with tannat, cot, gamay and merlot. This results in generally fruity wines, meant to be enjoyed young.
