V.D.Q.S. since October 2005, this appellation lies on the hilly landscape of the Garonne’s left bank, south-west of Montauban. The production of red wines and rosés is based on plantings of syrah, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot and tannat; the white wines are made from sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, sémillon, muscadelle and chenin blanc. Average annual production of Saint-Sardos is 6 000 hectolitres.
