Synonym
Riesling x Sylvaner (German-speaking Switzerland)
Definition
A hybrid achieved in Germany by Professor Müller-Thurgau and perfected by the Federal Arboriculture and Viticulture Research Station in Wädenswil (Zurich), Müller-Thurgau is the principal wine grape of German-speaking Switzerland.
In this temperate region it produces elegant aromatic wines. In warmer climates, these qualities may be masked by a certain heaviness and lack of acidity.
