- 200 g pitted prunes
- 5 eggs
- 130 g sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar (30 ml)
- 220 g flour
- 750 ml / 3 cups whole milk
- 20 g half-salt butter, plus some extra shavings
  1. Preheat the oven to 180° C (350° F).
  2. Whisk the eggs with the sugar and vanilla sugar. Add the flour and blend well.
  3. Gradually whisk in the milk to form a smooth batter.
  4. Melt 20 g of butter in a saucepan or in the microwave and mix into the batter.
  5. Butter a cake pan and place the prunes in it.
  6. Pour the batter over top and bake for approximately 45 minutes.
  7. Five minutes before the end of the baking time, sprinkle some half-salted butter shavings on top. Check for doneness with the tip of a knife. Cool before serving.
