- 750 ml (3 cups) milk
- 500 ml (2 cups) chablis or other white wine
- 1 tbsp. Louisiana hot sauce
- such as Tabasco
- 1 tsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- Salt and pepper
- Peanut oil for frying
- Corn flour
Method
  1. in a bowl, combine the milk, wine, hot sauce, soy sauce, onion powder and garlic powder;
  2. soak the okra in this mixture for a few minutes;
  3. dip the okra in flour; season;
  4. fry in hot oil; they're cooked once they rise to the surface;
  5. remove with a skimmer and transfer to paper towels;
  6. serve hot with a dip.
