This salad is generally served as an accompaniment to roast chicken.
Ingredients
Ingredients for 4 servings
- 1 firm Papaya
- 2 green apples
- 2 stalks of celery
- 2 slices of pineapple
- 2 tbsp. lemon juice
- 2 tbsp. walnut oil
- 1 tbsp. sesame oil
- 1 tbsp. Indonesian soy sauce or 1 tbsp. soy sauce + 1/2 tsp. molasses
- 1/2 tsp. sambal ulek
Method
- Peel and seed the papaya. Cut the flesh into thin strips.
- Peel and core the apples. Cut into thin strips.
- Slice the celery and pineapple thinly. Combine all the fruits in a bowl and refrigerate.
- In a small bowl, combine the two oils, lemon juice and soy sauce; mix well and add the sambal ulek. Toss with the salad just before serving.
