Strawberry Mikado Recipe
Flavors of Lot-et-Garonne

Ingredients
For 4 servings
- 450 g (1 lb.) strawberries
- 50 g (2 oz.) dark chocolate
- 50 g (2 oz.) white chocolate
Sweet pastry
- 260 g (9 oz.) softened butter
- 150 g (5 oz.) icing sugar
- 85 g (3 oz.) almond powder
- 2 eggs
- 2 g (1/2 tsp.) salt
- 2 g (1/2 tsp.) vanilla
- 430 g (15 oz.) flour
Method
Strawberry soup
- Purée 300 g (10 oz.) plain strawberries.
- Stir in 150 g (5 oz.) cut up strawberries.
Sweet pastry
- Thoroughly combine all the ingredients and refrigerate overnight.
- Roll out the pastry and cut into even strips.
- Bake in a 200° C (400° F) oven for 20 minutes.
Assembly
- Melt the dark and white chocolates.
- Dip the pastry sticks into the chocolate, alternating ends between dark and white.
- Pour the strawberry soup into a glass, then crisscross the pastry sticks over the glass.
- Garnish with a strawberry.
