Squash, zucchini, carrot, turnip, potato: these are all vegetables that can be cooked in the oven or on the grill, or under hot ashes.
In the old days, bear fat, sea salt or coltsfoot leaves were used for seasoning.
Ingredients
Ingredients for each serving
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 1 tbsp. honey
- 1 tbsp. Maple Syrup
- Salt and pepper
- Squash, zucchini, carrot, turnip, potato, etc.
- that can be cooked in the oven, on the grill - or under the ashes
Method
- Cut the vegetables into quarters;
- season with salt and pepper;
- combine the 3 ingredients for seasoning and pour over the vegetables;
- wrap in aluminum foil;
- cook in the oven or under the ashes for about 45 minutes.
