New Zealand wines
New Zealand country is a landscape torn from the pages of epic fantasies and ancient legends. It is a country defined by its beauty–a place known for soaring mountains that roll into grasslands surrounded by 10,000 miles of pristine coastline.
Growing regions
There are 5 main growing régions. Three of them represent 90% of the grape production:
- Marlborough renowned for its Sauvignon blanc (60%)
- Central Otago - Pinot noir, Pinot gris
- Hawke's Bay - Merlot (20%)
- Gisborne - The Chardonnay Capital (13%)
- Canterbury. - aromatic white wines, Riesling
