- 500 g (18 oz.) broad beans
- 4 tbsp. Barley
- 1/2 tsp. salt herbs
- 250 ml (1 cup) sliced carrots
- 250 ml (1 cup) turnip, diced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 5 liters (20 cups) chicken stock
- 200 g (7 oz.) lean salt pork
- Salt and pepper
Method
  1. place the broth in a pot; bring to a boil;
  2. add all the ingredients;
  3. reduce the heat and simmer until the beans are tender.
