Crispy Peach Tartine

Ingredients
Ingredients for 4 servings
- 2 ripe Peaches
- 4 slices of day-old bread
- Butter
- Sugar
- 500 ml (2 cups) vanilla ice cream
Method
  1. Butter a baking dish. Butter the bread slices and lay them in the dish.
  2. Preheat the oven to 220° C (425° F)
  3. Gently peel, halve and pit the peaches. Place a peach half on each bread slice, cavity side up.
  4. Sprinkle the peach with sugar, particularly the cavity.
  5. Place in the oven; keep a watchful eye on the peaches as they cook. The juice from the peaches will soak into the bread, make it crispy and slightly caramelized.
  6. Place one tartine on each serving plate, accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Sprinkle with cinnamon to taste.
