Gin & Tonic Recipe
Total time: less than 15 minutes
Difficulty: Easy
Chef's Note
In 2007, bartenders and fans are celebrating the 150th anniversary of the original Gin & Tonic. In the 19th century, the British army used Tonic Water as a preventative medicine against malaria in India. The soldiers added gin and lime to mask its extremely bitter taste.
Original Tips from Dan Warner
Instead of high-fructose sweetened mass market tonic waters, try natural tonic water available from specialty/gourmet food retailers. These new tonic waters are low in sugar and let the complex flavour profile of Beefeater London Dry Gin fully come through.
Freeze the tonic water into cubes and add 3 or 4 to your Beefeater London Dry Gin.
Ingredients
Method
- Pour Beefeater into an ice-filled glass, drop in a lime wedge.
- Then top up with tonic water and lightly stir.
