Sweet-Sour Beef and Pineapple Kebabs

Did you know that pineapple is a natural meat tenderizer? 

A little tip from your artisan butcher
To vary the pleasure, consider a marinade: thyme, bay leaf, olive oil and pineapple or lemon juice.

Ingredients for 4 servings

- 700 g (1 1/2 lb.) beef round steak, cut into cubes
- 1/4 d'pineapple
- 30 g (2 tbsp.) butter
- 1 tbsp. honey
- 3 tbsp. wine vinegar
- 1 red onion
  1. Remove the tough parts of the pineapple and cut the flesh into large cubes. 
  2. In a skillet, brown the pineapple cubes in the butter. Add the honey, caramelize lightly, then add the vinegar. 
  3. Cook for 3 minutes over medium heat. 
  4. Peel and cut the onion into pieces. Assemble the kebabs by alternating pieces of beef, cooked pineapple and onion on skewers.
  5. Season the kebabs and cook on the barbecue or under the broiler.
