Chef's Note

 Butter bread is a variety of brioche that is served with hot chocolate for breakfast. 

- 1 kg flour
- 300 g butter
- 2 eggs
- 3 packets dry yeast (preferably quick rising)
- 1 level Tbsp. salt
- 2 level Tbsp. sugar
- 1 small glass water
- 1 small glass milk
- 1 egg + vanilla extract for glazing
  1. In a saucepan, melt the butter with the salt, water and milk. Cool to lukewarm.
  2. In a bowl, combine the flour with the yeast and sugar. Add the 2 beaten eggs and butter mixture to the flour and knead to form a smooth dough.
  3. Let rise for 1 hour.
  4. Divide the dough into three pieces.
  5. Form each piece into a strip, then braid the 3 strips into a loaf.
  6. In a bowl, beat the egg with a little milk and few drops of vanilla and brush the glaze over the loaf.
  7. Bake in a 180° C/350° F oven for about 20 minutes.
