Halloween Cookies

Chef's Note

You can also simply decorate cookies made from your favorite recipe, provided that the surface is very flat and smooth.

Material required
A pumpkin-shaped cookie cutter; otherwise, cut out ovals by hand.

 

Ingredients
For 20 cookies

- 250 g / 2 cups flour
- 225 g / 1 cup butter
- 150 g / 1-1/4 cups icing sugar
- 2 eggs

Decoration
- Icing sugar
- Food coloring: orange, black, and green
Method
  1. In a bowl, cream the butter and icing sugar; whisk in the eggs. Gradually mix in the flour to form a smooth dough.
  2. Roll the dough out on a floured surface to a 5 mm thickness. Use the cookie cutter to cut out the cookies.
  3. Bake in a 180° C/350° F oven for 8-10 minutes until the cookies are baked and lightly golden.
  4. Cool completely before decorating.
