Chef's Note

To pour a hot liquid into a glass, first place a spoon in the glass then pour the liquid over the spoon in order to prevent the glass from cracking.

Per glass

- 250 to 500 ml (1-2 cups) boiling water
- 1 measure white or amber rum
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 4 cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
  1. Into a mug or deep glass, place the sugar, rum, cloves and cinnamon stick;
  2. add boiling water; float the spoonful of butter on top and serve immediately.
