Indonesian Chicken Kebabs with Shallots

For 3-4 servings

- 600 g (1 lb. 5 oz.) Chicken breast, in cubes
- 4 tbsp. peanuts
- 1 tbsp. chopped lemon grass
- 1 tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 tsp. turmeric
- 2 tsp. coriander
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- A pinch of salt
- Peanut oil
  1. Combine the ground spices with 3 finely chopped shallots.
  2. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients except the chicken with 1 tbsp. peanut oil. Roll the cubes of chicken in the spice mixture.
  3. Marinate for 1 hour, turning the chicken every 15 minutes.
  4. Soak some wooden skewers in water to prevent them from burning; place 3 chicken cubes on each skewer, alternating with 3 shallot halves.
  5. Grill for about 20 minutes, turning occasionally.
