Palmiers or Elephant Ears Recipe
Total time: 15 to 30 minutes
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Baking time: 20 minutes
Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients
For 6 servings
- 2 rolls of prepared puff pastry (rectangular if possible)
- 130 g (5 oz.) sugar
- 2 packets of vanilla sugar
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180° C (350° F).
- Combine the sugar and vanilla sugar.
- Unroll the puff pastry. Sprinkle on some of the sugar mixture. Roll the two sides of the pastry in toward the center until the two rolls meet in the middle.
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes, then slice and lay the slices on a parchment or silicone-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle each palmier with some of the remaining sugar.
- Bake for about 20 minutes or until nicely browned.
- Cool to room temperature.
