Ingredients
Ingredients for 4 servings
- 4 Pork chops
- 250 ml (1 cup) thinly sliced onion
- 750 ml (3 cups) Apple wedges
- 100 ml (6 tbsp.) Maple Syrup
- 1 tbsp. chicken base
- 60 ml (1/4 cup) water
- 1 tsp. thyme
- Salt and pepper
Method
- Brown the pork chops in a non-stick pan just long enough to color them on both sides;
- place four large sheets of aluminum foil on your work surface;
- first put on the onion, then the chop; finish with the apples;
- season and continue with the other packages;
- close the papillotes up tightly; add a second sheet of foil if you wish, to seal in the flavors;
- place into a preheated 175° C (350° F) oven and cook for 1 hour;
- combine the chicken base, water, maple syrup, salt and pepper; simmer until thickened slightly;
- transfer the papillotes to warmed plates; open and serve immediately with the sauce.
