These melt-in-your-mouth sugar cookies are easy to make. You only need three ingredients to make a dessert loved by all, big and small!

Hints & Tips
(1) Clarified butter or samneh, or ghee. Some people prefer to add more butter to this recipe, up to 100 g / 1/4 pounds more. 

- 225 g / 1/2 lbs. clarified butter (1)
- 225 g / 1/2 lbs. powdered sugar
- 450 g / 1 lbs. flour
- Halved almonds or pistachios for decoration
  1. Beat the cooled clarified butter for 2 minutes.
  2. Add the powder sugar and continue to beat until creamy.
  3. Add the flour and beat/knead until incorporated.
  4. Knead the dough a little. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  5. Shapes into small balls or rings and press a piece of nut in the middle.
  6. Arrange in an ungreased cookie sheet. To preserve their shape while baking, refrigerate them after shaping for 10 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 160°C / 325°F. Bake until very light golden, between 8-15 minutes.
  8. Remove from cookie sheet when cool. Ghraybeh is sandy and very sensitive when hot, so handle with care or else it will break.
