Truffle Sandwiches - Tastous

Chef's Note

This is one of the simplest and most delicious ways to enjoy black truffles. These golden little sandwiches are irresistible served as a first course: they also make a very luxurious snack.

It's important to buy the bread a day before toasting and to prepare the tastous 24 hours in advance so that the bread can absorb the truffle flavor.

A little extra
Drizzle the bread with a little truffle oil to bring out the truffle flavor even more.

- 50 g (2 oz.) Extra or Premier choix Black Truffles
- Country bread
- Garlic
- Salt and pepper
  1. Cut the country bread into fairly thin slices. Grate the truffles into thin strips.
  2. Toast the bread in the oven for 30 seconds.
  3. Rub the garlic lightly on the toast to enhance the truffles' flavor.
  4. Place several strips of truffle on each piece of toast; season with salt and pepper.

Prepare a bed of coarse salt on a platter and place the tastous on top.
