Ingredients
- For 40 fritters

- 6-8 apples
- powdered cinnamon
- oil for frying
- granulated sugar

For the fritter batter
- 375 g (13 oz.) flour
- 120 g (4 oz.) butter
- 50 g (2 oz.) sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 6 eggs
- 400 ml (1 1/2 cups + 2 Tbsp.) milk
Method
  1. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, flour and half the milk until smooth. Add the remaining milk and melted butter.
  2. Cover with a cloth and let rest at room temperature for at least 2 hours.
  3. Peel and core the apples. Slice them into rounds 5-7 mm (1/4”) thick.
  4. Place in a bowl and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  5. Heat the frying oil. Dip the apple slices into the fritter batter, drain off the excess and fry for 2 minutes on each side.
  6. Drain the fritters and sprinkle with granulated sugar before serving them hot.
