Beef Bolognese Sauce Recipe

Chef's Note
*The little pot of Knorr stock is a gelled concentrate that really tastes like homemade stock. You can use real homemade stock or a traditional concentrate – use the amount required for the quantity of water.
Ingredients
For 4 servings
- 500 g / 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 stalk celery, finely chopped
- 1 medium carrot, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp dried basil leaves, crushed
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano leaves, crushed
- 850 g / 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
- 1 pot (1 pot) Knorr® Homestyle Stock Beef * or 2 tbsp. beef concentrate
- 60 mL / ¼ cup heavy or whipping cream
Method
- Brown ground beef with onion, celery, carrot, garlic, basil and oregano in 12 inch (30 cm) nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, for about 10 minutes.
- Reduce heat to medium and stir in tomatoes and beef stock.
- Simmer covered, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes.
- Stir in cream; heat through. Serve if desired over hot cooked pasta.
