*The little pot of Knorr stock is a gelled concentrate that really tastes like homemade stock. You can use real homemade stock or a traditional concentrate – use the amount required for the quantity of water.

For 4 servings

- 500 g / 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 stalk celery, finely chopped
- 1 medium carrot, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp dried basil leaves, crushed
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano leaves, crushed
- 850 g / 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
- 1 pot (1 pot) Knorr® Homestyle Stock Beef * or 2 tbsp. beef concentrate
- 60 mL / ¼ cup heavy or whipping cream

  1. Brown ground beef with onion, celery, carrot, garlic, basil and oregano in 12 inch (30 cm) nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, for about 10 minutes.
  2. Reduce heat to medium and stir in tomatoes and beef stock.
  3. Simmer covered, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes.
  4. Stir in cream; heat through. Serve if desired over hot cooked pasta.
