Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients
Ingredients
- 200 g (2 cups) flour
- 125 g (1/2 cup) butter, at room temperature
- 90 g (scant 1/2 cup) sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 60 g (2 oz.) powdered almonds or 60 g walnuts (ground in a coffee grinder), or 60 g hazelnut powder
- A pinch of salt
Decoration
- A few almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, dried apples or pears
Method
-
Combine the flour, almonds, sugar and a pinch of salt in the bowl of a food processor. Process for 30 seconds.
-
Add the butter, cut into small pieces. Process briefly to form a sandy-textured dough.
-
Add the egg yolks and mix again. Work the dough as little as possible so that it is easy to work with and won't shrink during baking.
-
Form the dough into a ball and refrigerat for 1 hour.
-
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350° F); roll out the dough and cut into star shapes, using a cookie cutter. Place them onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
-
Decorate the stars with walnut halves, almonds, hazelnuts and small pieces of dried apple or pear. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
-
Bake for about 10 minutes until nicely golden.
