Grape, Cheese and Chive Appetizer Bites
Cuisine of the Montérégie region
Total time: less than 15 minutes

Cooking time: None
Cooling time: 1 hour

Difficulty: Easy
Chef's Note

We’ve allowed two per person, but we recommend that you make more, because your guests won’t be able to resist them!

Ingredients
For 4 servings

- 8 seedless grapes
- 180 g cream cheese like philadelphia
- 4 Tbsp. chives finely chopped
Method
  1. Moisten your hands to prevent the cheese from sticking. Place about 1 tsp. of cream cheese in the palm of your hand.
  2. Stick a grape into the centre. Roll the mixture between your palms to enclose the grape and form a ball.
  3. Place each ball into a plate containing the chopped chives. Roll it around to coat well, then place on a serving platter. Repeat with all the grapes. Refrigerate until serving time.

Sommelier

We sampled these appetizer bites at the Cidrerie Les Vergers de la Colline along with an Original Cider. Its lemon-green color is the first indication of its liveliness, with appealing fruity aromas of pears, peaches and fresh apples. Straightforward and well-balanced in the mouth, it reveals notes of honeydew melon, Asian pear and green grapes. The slow production process captures and concentrates the apple’s lovely fragrance, freshness and crispness. Thirst quenching and lighter than beer, this interesting Original will satisfy discerning palates and flavor seekers. Its quality makes it a great choice in the evening, perfect for a kir, a shandy or even an amazing Black Velvet (black beer over cider). Serve at 8° C.
