Onion Tart

For 4 servings

- 400 g (14 oz.) pâte brisée (pie pastry)
- 500 g (18 oz.) Onions
- 200 ml (3/4 cup) cream
- 4 eggs
- 2-3 tbsp. butter
- A pinch of grated nutmeg
- Salt and pepper
  1. Peel the onions and slice them thinly.
  2. Sweat them over low heat in melted butter until translucent but not browned.
  3. Line a tart or pie plate with the pâte brisée (pie pastry).
  4. Cover with the onions.
  5. Beat the eggs with the cream; season with salt, pepper and nutmeg; pour over the onions.
  6. Bake in a preheated 180° C (350° F) oven for 30-40 minutes. Serve hot.
