Pumpkin Punch with Chic Choc Spiced Rum
Ingredients
- For 12 to 15 servings

Spiced pumpkin syrup
- 85 ml / 1/3 cup water
- 85 ml / 1/3 cup honey
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2.5 cm / 1 inch fresh ginger, sliced
- 125 ml / 1/2 cup pumpkin purée
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Punch
- 1 pumpkin, average size
- 500 ml / 2 cups Chic Choc spiced rum
- 190 ml / 3/4 cup orange juice
- 190 ml / 3/4 cup lemon juice
- 3 - 4 drops Angostura bitters
- 2 liters root beer
- Sliced orange
- 3 cinnamon stick
- Ice cubes
Method

 Spiced Pumpkin Syrup

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the water, honey, cinnamon and ginger to a boil. Boil rapidly for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Remove from the heat; add the pumpkin purée and vanilla.
  3. Strain into a container.
  4. Cool to lukewarm. Cover and refrigerate. 

Punch

  1. Hollow out the pumpkin to form a punch bowl.
  2. Into the pumpkin pour the pumpkin syrup, Chic Choc spiced rum, orange and lemon juices and the Angostura bitters.
  3. Add 1 liter of root beer (or more to taste), ice cubes, orange slices and cinnamon sticks.
  4. Serve in ice-filled glasses.
