Ingredients
- 400 g (14 oz.) pastry flour
- 80 g (3 oz.) sugar
- 100 g (3 1/2 oz.) raisins
- 2 packets of yeast
- 1 packet of baking powder
- Water
Method
- In a bowl, place the raisins to soak in warm water.
- Mix the flour with the sugar, yeast and enough water to form a thick dough.
- Knead the dough; when it becomes smooth, form it into a ball. Add a little more flour if necessary so that it doesn't stick to your fingers.
- Flatten the dough with your hand, sprinkle the drained raisins over top and knead again.
- Form into a ball again and let rise 3 hours.
- With a sharp knife, cut a criss-cross pattern into the surface of the bread to facilitate baking.
- Place in a very hot oven to bake for 30 minutes.
