This method will prevent clams or oysters from tipping if you fill their shells and while you move them in and out of the kitchen.

The salt also provides an attractive crystalline backdrop that retains heat and give off a fragrant aroma.

The mix can be reused many times as long as if it was heated, it did not burn.

- Star anise
- Bay leaves
- Allspice
- Cloves
Method

There are no specific proportions or spices for this mix. Use the salt as a base and mix in as much of each spice as you wish.

Mix the ingredients, then store in a covered container at room temperature.
