Salsa cruda Recipe
Chef's Note
Cruda means “raw,” and this salsa is made by simply chopping the ingredients coarsely. It’s fairly thick and can be used as a condiment or as a dip for tortilla chips.
The salsa can be made as hot or mild as you wish, depending on the number of jalapeños you use and whether you include the ribs and seeds, which is where all the heat is concentrated.
Ingredients
- 1 clove of garlic
- 4 large tomatoes
- 1/2 bunch fresh cilantro
- 1 large onion
- 1 green pepper
- 2 Jalapeño Chilies
- A pinch of dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Method
- Chop all the ingredients coarsely by hand or in a food processor;
- combine well and serve.
