Ardenne Ham and Cranberry Compote Open-Faced Sandwich Recipe
Ingredients
For 4 servings
- 4 thick slices of multi-grain bread
- 20 g fresh cheese
- 100 g Ardenne ham, sliced
- 1 packet of sprouts (e.g., cress)
Cranberry compote
- 100 g frozen cranberries
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 star anise
- Veal stock
Method
- Make the compote by cooking the cranberries with a little water, the sugar and star anise until nicely thickened.
- Cool slightly. Remove the star anise.
- Spread the bread slices with cheese and place the Ardenne ham on top.
- Garnish with a half spoonful of cranberry compote and a small handful of sprouts.
