Chef's Note
This hot sauce, placed in a glass jar, will keep for up to a week in the refrigerator.
Some cooks like to add about 1/4 tsp. black pepper to the sauce to give it more depth. Others reduce the amount of chili to make it only medium-hot.
Ingredients
Ingredients
- 1 glass of stock or water
- 2 fresh Chilis (or 1/2 tsp. chili paste)
- 2 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch, dissolved in a little cold water
- 2 tbsp. tomato sauce
- 1 small sweet pepper, diced
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 10 drops of sesame oil (optional)
Method
Place all the ingredients into a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Stir gently and constantly until thickened.
