Light French Toast with Caramelized Apples

Preheat the oven to 190° C (375° F)
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 10 + 30 minutes
Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients for 4 servings
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 4 tbsp. brown sugar
- 4 tbsp. Irish cream
- 4 Apples, peeled and diced
- 3 eggs
- 200 ml (3/4 cup) milk
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) Irish cream
- 8 slices of raisin bread
  1. Place the butter, brown sugar, 4 tbsp. Irish cream and apples in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat until slightly thickened.
  2. Place the caramelized apples in a rectangular baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, beat the eggs, milk and 1/2 cup Irish cream. Dip the bread slices in the mixture one at a time until they absorb the liquid.
  4. Lay the bread on top of the apples in a single layer.
  5. Bake in a preheated 190° C (375° F) oven for 30 minutes or until the egg mixture is cooked.
  6. Serve the French toast topped with the apples, accompanied by your favorite syrup.
