Etymology: 17th century “tay,” probably from Dutch, ultimately from Chinese dialecte

A drink with multiple depths, tea is an invitation to travel.
Its color is the most beautiful of passports.
A few scalding sips from a cup conjure up places with names like
Darjeeling, Assam, Yunnan, Formosa…
Just drops of these secret flavors fill us with a heady sensation,
even perhaps a vague intoxication,
An intoxication that reveals all the poetry contained in a few grams of tea.
